Negro Leagues 100
ROLE: Creative DIrection, Art Direction, Copywriting

When a pandemic struck in what should have been a banner year for the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Negro Leagues seemed destined to fall short of expectation. Our team turned around a brand campaign that helped the museum to one of its best financial years ever in spite of the pandemic.
We helped raise donor funds and, more importantly, drove awareness toward one of the most important civil rights stories in the history of our nation, let alone the game of baseball. With the help of sports writer Joe Posnanski, and the “Tip Your Cap” campaign and website – we helped generate results that blew us and the museum away. Participation from all four living former US Presidents, and sports greats like Michael Jordan, Hank Aaron and Mike Trout - to name a few. The brand was also licensed and heavily featured by powerhouse brands like Toyota and Budweiser in partnership advertising efforts.
I even got to design a wrap for Kansas City’s streetcar – turning it into a giant Buck O’Neil jersey. Truly one of the highlights of my career.
