Rickerson Cattle Company, based in Fort Scott, Kansas, is one of the largest producers of beef in the Southeastern portion of the state. When the ranch owner, who also happens to be my father-in-law, approached me to reimagine his brand – he was simply talking about the physical “brand.” Like, the branding iron. The gate icon.
But I had other ideas.
Utilizing a mid-century look and feel that took inspiration from the speed shops, farm co-ops and garages of the 1940’s and 50’s – combined with the color palette of his Michigan Wolverines, I was able to breathe new life into a ranch that had been in operation for over 30 years.
Through new signage on ranch vehicles and handouts for sale days, the new brand has received admiration (and jealousy) from peers across the state.
